My Story
Hi, welcome 🤍
My name is Demi Dawkins, a British abstract artist born in 1997.
Art has always been a form of therapy for me. Growing up undiagnosed with ADHD and Autism, I often felt misunderstood and struggled to express what was going on inside. During the Covid-19 lockdown, life became overwhelming, and I moved in with my aunt and uncle to find some peace. My uncle encouraged me to start painting again and even built me an easel from spare wood so I could create freely.
It was during this time that I rediscovered art — not as something to perfect, but as something to feel.
What began as an emotional outlet quickly became a way for me to process, release, and reconnect with myself. My work is deeply intuitive, often created in a state of flow, embracing uncertainty rather than control.
Through movement, texture, and layered colour, I explore themes of peace, faith, and letting go. Each piece is less about what you see, and more about what you feel.
Thank you for being here and taking the time to connect with my work.
Love,
Demi x
